So, you tried to import a .mid file and it did nothing? Just as a test I downloaded some Linkin Park midi file and it went in okay, looks like each midi channel is seperated into its own combinator which is pretty nice. I never tried saving a midi file using FL, I know when you open a midi in FL it opens 'x' amount of channels in the project and then you can assign instruments / generators whatever. I think your best bet at this point is try to export from FL to .mid and then import, seems to put all the notes in the right spot and tempo |

I will try it when I am sober and see if I am able to do it and let you know, it's things like this that made me stop using anything but Reason as a whole lol

Aight, it's like this. I went ahead, created a blank flp and slapped two midi outs in there. You probably should make sure there are NO other generators/samplers/vsti's whatever on board, just a blank document with up to 16 midi outs. I have FL8, I hope you do too, you can download my flp here http://www.terrariumrecords.net/miditest.flp. Load it up, export as midi, then import into Reason. It adds a bunch of note lanes and stuff but the two channels are loaded into two seperate combinators which you can then assign devices to. If there are any other problems I can try to help but I rarely ever use midi files so I'm certainly no expert lol. Good luck!! |

Midi is just for sequencing, you won't have the same patches or sounds. You'd have to rewire to get the same sounds.

Didn't even think of importing midi. Cheers for the eye opener. Used Fruity Loops for about 18 monthes, may's i'll go back and have a look. Hate the program noe though. It's got very little on Reason, but all depends on your plug in's. Can't beat wireing up devices but |
