Default Combinator Volume

Does anyone know how to control the volume in Combinator with a midi controller? V3.0.

Just assign your control surface to the main volume of the mixer in the comb. or, in the programmer, select a rotary knob and make it correspond to the volume fader, then automate that.

I guess I should have been more specific. I want to do this while playing, not listening after recording. When playing, the Combinator and patch have to be selected in order to hear sound. You can control the mixer to it with no problem, but if selected, no sound while playing.

Thanks for replying,
Joe

You can assign a control to switch between devices.

Options>Additional Remote Overrides>Target next track

Can you switch using only midi controllers? Or do you have to switch using the computer? I want to control the volume in Combinator like in a live situation. Not 100% sure how to do what you suggested, but I'll give it a try later. Thanks a million.

Cow,

I tried what you said but I'm not really sure what is supposed to happen. Could you explain a little more?

You say that you want to be able to automate the mixer and play live at the same time. You can assign a knob to switch between devices quickly, which should do what you want. Sorry if I misunderstood?

Thanks for trying. All I want to do is control the volume in cominator while playing. I would like to do this without using the computer (after set up, of course).

I don't know what to look for when I try to do what you said to do. I did what you said, but nothing happened. I'm not sure what to look for. I know how to assign a controller, but I don't know how to do this within the application. Could you please explain or walk me through the steps?

Joe

Titan,

I figured it out man! I went to options>Remote override edit mode. Then I right clicked on the volume for the mixer and went into edit. From there I chose data entry, set a controller to #7. And the good thing is that I don't have to switch back and forth. I can control the volume in combinator while playing and no switching! Yes! I went from Junior Samples to Aristotle in one stroke of the keyboard.

I have to give you the credit because you got me on the right track. Reason is awesome! Thanks man!

Joe
