Flan: Whenever you feel like there's a particular thing with a song you're probably right. Also, there's a couple of ways you can record your bass guitar into Reason, the free way and the Ableton Live way (wink wink nudge nudge )

Basically with the free way you plug your bass guitar amp headphone/amp cable into your mic or line in... socket (can't remember the word), then record your bass guitar with Audacity (freeware) then get a metronome going in Reason in the right tempo. Select the right recording input and record it. Then save it as a wave or aif file and load it up in recycle (which you'll have to get. So I guess this isn't really free ^^), sllice it, export it as an rx2 file and load it up in the rex player, or a sampler like the NNXT.

The non-free way is to get Ableton Live or another similar DAW and rewire it to reason. You can use the hammer mod for rebirth engine to send live inputs into reason, but you can't record it, but it's still good for playing live.

Tim: I listened to your song, I thought it was really good, but I didn't like most of the patches, but that's PROBABLY just because they were mostly the factory patches and I'm so used to hearing them.

Tim you know you can post links on this site... no prob there

anyway, that was a pretty well mixed song. one thing i would suggest is some variation more often to make it interesting, but thats just my personal preference.

it says you can only post links after 10 posts to stop spamming.

You can buy godheaps of patches online, but the cheaper way is to just tweak existing patches, or if you can, make your own.

I'm still in reason 3 with all factory sounds, This is just what I'm working on and will probably not bare a close resembleance to the finished product.

Well, "MyHeadHasLegs2" implies that its a sequel to the first head... was this just an improvement of the first song, or is there an original head w/ legs

Not really, sometimes I save a backup when I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the changes I made. After a few hours going round in circles sometimes it's better to look back at your original ideas and check to see if you've actually made any improvements or just messed it up. I was just very lazy naming the file.
