| Here is something I've been wondering for awhile now. When you create a device, say a subtractor, it's name will appear in the mixer. This is all fine and dandy, mixer says subtractor, I am happy. Until... you add an effect and the mixer no longer says subtractor, it says scream 4. Now I can rename the scream 4 to say subtractor so that I know what I'm doing in the mixer, but that is cumbersome. Is there a way to get reason to put the device name in the mixer instead of the last effect in the chain, or alternatively, is there a way to get reason to automatically rename the effects to match the name of the device? |

I think that there is a way to do this called side-linking or something? I've never really bothered, but I'd do something like Bass>out for the last device on a chain of devices relating to bass.

Usually if I know I'm putting FX blocks in the signal chain instead of using send/return I'll dump everything in a combinator. Besides, the rack gets sloppy as hell if you start running devices through free range effects and then yes, it's annoying because the last device to get your cabling will be the name in the mixer xD

Thats a good idea about the combinator, never thought of that. And yeah, I should be using send effects. I usually like to tweak them individually but I guess reverb is reverb.

You don't have to add the effects directly under the (for example) subtractor. U can connect the effect with the mixer! If the subtractor is for example in the first channel, in the upperside is a wheel named "AUX". in the right upper corner of the mixer are showed every effets connected to the mixer. so u can turn the wheel AUX 1 to add the effect to the subtractro!

But this doesnt work for all effects. For example Scream oder the compressors are effects that used to be inserted between the source and the mixer. Otherwiese it will sound totally different, because you hear the original and the effected signal mixed together. SendFX/Aux-Routing is just good for reverb, echo (and some special cases).
