Do you mean quantize the notes to your grid while recording? If so yes that can be done in reaper, on the bottom of the sequencer below the play and stop button you should see the "quantize during recording" box. Just click that and you're done.

that can be done in reaper? i assume you mean reason lol. yes, this feature is called quantizing, and by pressing F8 you can change how it's snapped in time, in 1/2 beats, 1/64 or shuffle.

ok i dont think i really get how to use the quantize thing. I set it's value to 1/2 (assuming that means half a bar?) but when I record my notes arnt adjusting to the half bar notes I want. ok i just tried it out some more and found that it does auto lock to the half bar, but its length is not automatically half a bar. what can I do? Yepper, 1/2 is half a measure, default is 1/16. You could think of it as showing how fine it will snap. You could quantize to say, 64th notes, but you probably wouldn't see much of a shift in notes. Not only that, I've noticed Reason won't quantize notes to the nearest hundredth (maybe just my settings?) Usually basslines and comping I'll fix by hand since I want it 100% dead on, and leads / melodies I kind of just quantize once with 16th snap and let it float wherever, unless it's totally jacked up then I fix by hand |
