Cool ReDrum Range Limitation

Is there a way to increase the number of channel strips for ReDrum? I am using a set of V-Drums and mapping them to ReDrum. The problem is that I can only map to 8 channels. The V-Drums have dual zones for each pad. I can get two different midi events from different regions of each pad. This is very important and helps generate an authentic sound. When I add up all of the zones I end up with at least 16. Each zone triggers a different key starting at C1. As you progress you get well into the C2 octave range. I can overcome this if I use NN-XT but the mapping can be very tedious. I hoped I explained myself well enough to get some help. So back to the original question, Is there a way to extend the channels in ReDrum from 8 to 16?

No, the redrum is limited to only 8 channels sadly, but you'd probably be better off using the nnxt, since in can load an unlimited amount of samples and offers alot of control over your samples. Although it's not as hassle free as the redrum and the parameters aren't as direct I'll give you that and you'll basically have to manually map each sample

yeah the NNXT would be the best option for you, or if you have ableton or FL studio or something you can add as many channels as you want.

Yes, That's right!
Use the NN-XT and so it works more than with RedruM!

Default Thank you

Well,, I hoped that I just missed something. Is Ableton Re-Wire-able? If not I guess I just need to create a template map for the NN-XT and get it over with. I use Nuendo as my primary DAW.

Yeah ableton has rewire, but I mean if youre happy with cubase there's no need to swith (even though ableton's drum racks are THE BEST). Sorry the ableton fanboy in me had to let that out lol. Anyway you could just use a VST like battery, or any other drum VST too (personally i dont use much of those). But if you really want to handle the drums in reason it's best just to create a template for the nnxt like you said.

Hi,
Just wanted to say that you can easily map a lot of samples to individual notes on the NN-XT by loading in all of the samples that you want to use. Then select all of them and right click on them.
In the context menu there is an option to 'Automap Zones' (i think that is what it says, as i don't have Reason on this computer that i'm working on!)
Once you have done this, each zone will be assigned to 1 note on the keyboard, so you can play it as you would with the ReDrum.
Matt.
