Default Piano refills

Does anyone have an opinion on the piano refills? Especially the grand piano? Another question: I'm also using Tascam's Giga Studio grand piano. Is there anyway to play that in Reason?

Thanks,
Joe

Well I'm no piano player but I love reason's piano refill, it sounds very nice to me, very good quality, and it's been "hypersampled". There might be better vsts out there for piano but I'm not sure about refills. Personally reason pianos tops all refills that I've heard so far.

As you probably already know there's a preview video on propellerhead's site:

The only way you can use your Tascam's Giga Studio grand piano vst is if you rewire reason to a host DAW (like cubase, ableton, pro tools, sonar etc). Then you'll be able to use your vst and reason side by side. So just to be clear Reason can not use VSTs.

SG,

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. The demo is awesome. I think I'll get it.

I have been using the rewire feature in Sonar to play the vst samples. I was just hoping that I could use them within Reason, but guess not. Thanks again.

Thumbs up

If you go to www.reasonmusic.ru , a Russian Homepage, there are many great refills for free download!
But If I were u, I'd think about, because u'll have to register there and the Refills are just DEMOs, buit they're OK!

Hey thanks for the Russian site. I'll check it out. I did order the piano refill because it does sound pretty good and was not too bad for $100.00. I'm happy with my Tascam, but you have to play it in real time. Being not a piano player, I need to slow it down.

But I have a question. In the demo, they were showing how to bring the different mics in and out of the mix through the line mixer. Does anyone know how to set this up so that I can do that?

Thanks,
Joe

In the mixer, change the volume levels of each individual mic... there'll be a mixer channel for each type.

Yeah, just want to point out the that the mixer's located within' the combinator if you didn't know that already.

Thanks guys,

I just was wondering how to set it up , but when you load in the patch (in combinator), all components load automatically. I just got the refills a couple of hours ago and these pianos are just awesome!! Thanks for the recommendation.
