Default No Sound When Editing Notes!?

i have lost sound when penciling or editing notes. im really struggling to find out why. it seemed to be default behavior to hear notes when selected/drawn in the edit window, now just silence anytime i pencil or select a note. when i play back the track can hear all notes, but nothing when trying to edit. am i missing a switch? any help appreciated
thanks

I have never heard notes when i select/insert oder drag them in Reason. I believe, this is normal in Reason. But it would be a good feature

Default to clarify

example....
if you are using logic or pro tools, when you pencil in a note on a midi/instrument track, the note sounds the device the track is routed to. lets say i have simply recorded a single C2 on a midi track and i would like to move it up an octave....i select the C2 note and drag it up. each note i pass along the way up should sound.

say i have recorded a redrum track in the sequencer with my keyboard. i select the recorded clip and enter edit mode...
when i click on a note i should HEAR it, and if i feel like drawing in a extra kick or snare i should HEAR those too.

i hope this makes sense
thanks for any help

Agree with iGoA, Reason just doesn't do this. THOUGH if you rewire Reason to a host I believe it may in that host application?

interesting answers because ive just upgraded to reason 4 and this feature is not there BUT it was on reason 3 (which ive been using for the last year and 100% sure that feature was there). And I think were talking about the same thing. When i was editing notes and i moved a note it would sound wherever i moved it to.For example if the note was 2 bars long and i moved at any point through those 2 bars i could hear the new note play. But in reason 4 i cannot hear anything until that note is played from its beginning point.(i.e. sequencer is playing in a loop and it comes back around to the beginning point of the note). I found that feature very useful and its a shame its not there now

I think it's not needed to hear notes while editing notes.
On the left side is a piano keyboard!
Why don't u use that? Is it too circular for u?
But if u use Steinberg Cubase or Nuendo u can hear every note while drawin'.
So maybe you change to those programs or u can use reason.
