| I think I'm ReWired all correctly, I can play the synths through Ableton and the audio monitors read it. Now when I record something in Ableton, it looks like it records (visually, the sound wave is there), but when I play it back, no sound. Anyone know whats going on? Hmm..I think I just figured it out while writing this..you need to record Audio AND MIDI data to hear the playback. What if I want to use quantization and Regroove from Reason? I tried just recording in Ableton from a played back Reason track and it only recorded the audio.... Also, how do you guys typically record when using Ableton/Reason? Do you use the Ableton sequencer or the Reason sequencer? Also, how do you use Reason effects like reverb in Ableton? Lolz, sorry for all the questions. |

I record in the Reason sequencer, but only because I know it so well, I'm sure Ableton's can do just the same... To add effects in ableton, just route your reason device into an FX device like an rv7000 and route that into whatever channel you want, then it will magically work!

Hi, I rewire ableton and reason. I use ableton to record vocals, guitar, bass and reason to record the backing tracks. I have 1 track in ableton that receives the audio from reason, then i use Reason as i would if i was using it on its own.

@Jaxamillian: First of all: There´s no need to record any audio from Reason. Leave your Reason audio track as it is (with monitoring IN)! Then you can decide if you record your MIDI data into a MIDI track in ableton (Then you have to route the MIDI-Out of this track into Reason for playback) OR if you record your MIDI directly into Reason. |
