| 1) How do I use a WAV sample (such as bass kick) and create a track where I can "draw" the sample? I would also like to be able to use the sample in different pitches. 2) On a related topic, how do I use a WAV loop? 3) How do I apply an effect (reverb) on a track/instrument? Thank you for help |

That's pretty simple to do with a Redrum. Just load up a sample in whatever channel you want and look in the sequencer, there should be a track lane there be default. Then you can use the pencil tool to draw an empty group, and by double clicking on that you can draw individual notes. You can also record them with your Midi keyboard and quantize, or use the Redrum's step sequencer and automate pattern changes. Using wav loops is pretty simple, but the only problem is that it will almost definitely not match your tempo exactly. The only real way to do it is to use ReCycle, set slice points through the sensitivity meter and set the amount of Bars, beats, time signature etc. Alternatively, programs like Ableton Live can automatically change the tempo of wav or aif loops without needing to slice them. Reverb is probably the simplest, just make an RV7000 below the device you want to apply reverb to and just change the patch/tweak the settings. These are all pretty basic questions though, before getting people to answer these questions you should google and youtube your queries.

I know that a lot of forums will say RTFM!! but this forum seems to always help people and that is great! But it has to be said that if you are starting to use a new piece of software for the first time then it is worth your while in reading the manual. The Reason manual is great and it is very easy to follow. I'm sure that most of us have had a new piece of software and just tried to figure it out as we go, but there comes a point (for me anyway) when you have to turn to the manual and you find out that there are ways of making things easier and quicker.
