Post Crackling/Hissing Problem with Soundcard and Sample Bufer Rate

Seeing how so many people's problems are related to this problem with the sample buffer rate, I've decided to make a thread which I will link to if anyone asks again, to save everyone some time and to make it more specific.

If you are experiencing a Crackling or Hissing noise, this is probably due to your Sample Buffer Rate and the Soundcard you are using.

To get rid of this noise, go into Edit > Prefences > Audio and change your soundcard to the right one or if you don't have the best soundcard, use ASIO4ALL which works wonders!

Otherwise, simply drag the buffer to the right so that you don't get this noise, but still have a decent delay rate (somewhere within 15ms to 40ms tops).

Here's some screenshots:

Great post, this should be sticked along with the redrum and recycle tutorials.
Yes it's a simple solution but it's asked SO MUCH. Thanks for contributing this titancow.

I don't quite think that this should be sticked because that would clutter up the top of the forum, I remember Moltar saying something like that a while ago and I don't want to p!ss the guy off, but it is always available in the forum and we can just link to it... I think that's the best way to use this for everyone.

Well I would much prefer another section for tutorials, (Which moltar was thinking about doing, but that guy's a ghost ). But for now yeah I guess linking to it would be best.

Yeah but I think that Moltar's waiting until he has a decent amount of documents before uploading them onto webspace... which does cost money...

Another cool feature would be an IRC or embedded Java chatroom that required a captcha... that'd be pretty sweet lol...

PS - I responded to the PM I assume you said you had just responded to... ...

I'm just talking about taking all the helpful threads in this section and creating an other section to move it over to. Then sticky all those threads. That would be fairly easy for him (I used to have a forum a while ago also), but hey maybe the man's busy.

Also I understand all this costs money, I greatly appreciate that moltar gives us a place to exchange information.
