| Most of the time the set up works fine. However every once in a while (say every 4 hrs as so) when I playback audio from it has a rhythmic digital glitch over the top of it. The audio plays but drops out and glitches say 1 to 2 times every second. This problem is then relevant to all audio played back across all samples until I either close down the program and restart or select another audio driver when it rectifies itself. This problem doesn’t seem to sync with any particular sample or MIDI event and like I say only seems to happen after a period of time, but quite unexpectedly. Any thoughts appreciated. Hey Pedro (Napoleon Dynamite fan, I presume Please decribe this "digital glitch" in more detail... or better yet - record it through what-u-hear. If it's a sort of crakling and hissing noise, then you should change the Sample Buffer Rate under Edit>Preferences>Audio, or use ASIO4ALL.

I'm having the same problem... I'm running a Vista32 PC with EMU 0404 USB sound card, and when I boot Reason 4 and start playing, about a minute into my session, my ASIO driver dumps the sound (or the sound becomes highly distorted) until I reselect my ASIO EMU 0404 USB driver from the list... I've also tried upping my latancy, and that doesn't help... I installed the new Vista patch software that allows my 0404 to utilize Vista (supposedly)... but I don't think it's the hardware... my problem is my ASIO driver. Any way around this? |

Really don't know what the problem is, try asking ASIO4ALL fans?

I wonder if going back to XP would do the trick... Before I built my PC, I used my XP based laptop for running Reason, and my drivers worked fine. Bad news is, Vista is the only OS I have had on it, so I'm going to try to scrounge a full version of XP somewhere... : / |

Yeah since it worked with XP that means vista could be conflicting with your sound drivers, check to make sure your soundcard is fully updated.

uhhh... I hate Vista, my keyboard doesn't work with it no more, I'm taking my copy of vista out the back and hitting it with an axe... use Linux, or Mac, or as a last resort, Windows. Linux ftw!
