| I suppose this is a total beginner question but I'd greatly appreciate the help. So I want to replace my Nord Electro for live use with Reason and a MIDI controller. I just can't really figure out how I set up my keyboard to be able to change settings in Reason. For example, I press one button and it's set for a Rhodes sound, I press another and it's set for a piano sound, etc. I've also seen people using the Combinator to be able to switch between different sound chains...I think. So for example, I have a sound setup running the NN-XT sampler going into a RV7000 going into a Scream 4, and then I have a different sound running the Malstrom running into a flanger, and so on. Instead of having to open up different rns files, is there a way (using the Combinator, I think) to be able to open each of those sounds using my MIDI controller? Thanks a lot for the help! |

One solution is, that you build ALL your sounds in one combinator and separate them via the keyzones in the programmer (octave 1 for sound nn-xt, octave 2 for malström und so on). Or you could store all your sounds as combinator-patches (presets) in one folder and define 2 MIDI-Keys to select next/previous patch (set this up in "options" - "additional remote overrides"). Then - once you habe loaded one patch out of this directory - you can switch through all your patchs. Shortcoming is that, you cannot define the order of patches. |
