Unhappy irritated by MIDI and keyboard-guidance plz?

Hi, I never had any problem with using my USB Alesis Photon keyboard before with Reason....until now. My desktop stopped recognising the USB ports for the keyboard (drivers are installed) .....so I plug into a MIDI port on my PC's soundcard. This is not the problem (though if someone knows why USB suddenly dosn't recognise the drivers then gr*!).

The problem is that I have a MIDI lead out of the keyboard to the IN of the MIDI soundcard on pc. The only module that i get a sound from is the Subtractor? any other devices that I pull up are recieving MIDI signals, but i get no sound AT ALL?? do not tell me it is the soundcard....as i get sound from one device?? also MIDI signals going to the devices?? just NO sounds...............it is driving me nuts!!!!
tried everything! Not the PC, not the soundcard etc!!

NB: do i need a MIDI lead from the OUT of soundcard to the IN of keyboard?????

any help appreciated
thanks
fluxsta

which version of reason are you using?

I was using a friend of mine version of reason 3.0 and had that same problem..what i did was check all the connections and went to preference and deleted and then added all of the midi controllers.. it worked and then i told him to upgrade to reason 4.0.1

If the subtractor works, you can definitively exclude soundcard problems. I would guess, there is something wrong with the wiring in your Reason rack. Did you check the connections on the back side of your rack?

Thumbs up

as i stated in a previous thread, if your using 2 or more midi controllers than it may be the conflict between them using the same channel or preset so unplug one and see if the sam problem persist.
