Well I had BestBuy gift cards/reward point $$ that brought my actual cash output to around $200 or so.

What size is her ACER? The Acers that circuit city current have are a 22 incher that is $300 (same amount I would have paid (without gift cards ect) for the 22 inch version of this one.

And then they have a 24 inch version that is $449 (more expensive than mine..., plus the one I bought is 26 inches and after tomorrow is going back up to $499....) I got a steal at $419.

Plus the specs on the acers don't touch the specs on this one, and this has HDMI...(ps3 in my home studio looks great)....could be a distraction, but hey.

everyone that works hard needs a break every now and again.

I will post pics of my completed setup later on today.

i guess that if you have the gift cards then you might aswell get what you want the most... the PS3 playing sounds good

PS: My sister's screen is 22inch.

I thought recycle was kind of a waste of money until I found out you can record live audio, import into recycle and convert it to a rex file. I usually record while in rewire, then import all my live audio files into DR Rex and use reason to mix everything. Most people will probably say "duh", but I just figured it out. Now I think it was a great deal. I have the same monitors you have and I love them. I also have a FW-1082, but a crappy Dell 17" moniter.

There's a way that you can use the ReBirth machine to do it actual live. A new member discovered that, I'll link to it now...

[EDIT]

You need ASIO4ALL which you can download here.

Here's the thread I was talking about!

I only used a mac for a week (mac mini) but I am pretty sure the onboard drivers are already ASIO compliant. One feature I throughly enjoyed about the mac, though I could be wrong and if I am someone should definitely correct me

Torn about purchasing recycle, right now I bounce loops in and out of Reason using FL8, which is fine, but it's kind of lame not having any control over the loops once they are exported out of FL. Then again, FL is paid for already, and Recycle is not, so if it's not broken...

Why not just rewire reason to FL, and control all the live audio editing in FL?

I don't like FL all that much anymore, and when you rewire there is a device limitation that I'm sure has a workaround but I'm really too lazy to figure it out, plus IRL stuff is much more pressing

Ah, that makes sense. I use ableton and reason so I find rewiring very easy to me. Sonar is also pretty easy with that. Off topic but man I went over a friend's home studio who uses the new cubase, I tried making a track with that, I still hate that sh!t and it's interface lol.
