Default Layering voices in Reason?

Hello all,

I am relatively new to Reason software. I was wondering whether it would be possible to layer voices in Reason. I would like to layer Strings and Horns and play it simultaneously with my MIDI controller.

Is ii possible to do so?

Thanks

i am not at all sure...but i think you can do this using the combinator. another kinda cheesy way to do it would be to pick your string sound and record whatever you are trying to record...and then create a new track with a horn sound selected and insteaad of playing on that track, just copy the track information from the string track onto the horn track.

let me know if this works....i am kinda curious.

Yeah the combinator easily does this and many more.

Just read up on the combinator in the manual.

Like SG said - you can do this pretty neatly with a combinator. Just use a couple of NNXTs.

Hey guys...

Many...many thanks for the reply. The version of Reason i have is 2.5. I guess to use the Combinator , i need version 3.

I am not sure whether i want to upgrade to version 4. Is there a Version 3 upgrade still available ?

Its good to know that layering is possible. I am used to hardware synths, but I feel reason has a lot of potential just waiting to be discovered...

Thanks for the support.

cheers.

Don't bother upgrading to version 3, there's so much more in version 4, why wouldn't you like to upgrade to it?

I'm not sure really. I read a few negative reviews on V4.

I guess i should try it out myself...

What is new between 3 and 4?

Thor (which is worth it alone), regroove mixer, new sequencer, and the RPG-8 arpeggiator.

Just try out the demo, see if you like it.

Thanks. I think I will settle for version 4. Sounds tempting. I have downloaded the demo and would like to give it a test run.

Do you know where i could find the manual for Reason 4. The demo doesnt seem to come with any manuals

me =

Appreciate the help
