| well if you increase the pitch using the root or tune option, it only changes the pitch of the sample that you currently have selected.... I am wondering if there is a way to make the pitch of all the samples change to match the key (pitch), of the one that you have currently selected. hope this makes sense thanks |

ok so I guess no one could. Well maybe others have the same question... I am researching it still, but I found an option... the nn-19 allows you to edit the pitch of the entire sample using the oscillator section. if you want to edit individual samples all you have to do use the pitch, octave, tune knobs that are right under the keyboard. I am still trying to see if this can be done using the nn-xt hope this helps someone out...it sure is going to help me. |

Do you want to pitch all the samples while you're playing? Or do you just want to know how to pitch all the samples at one time using the nnxt?

what do you mean pitch the samples "while" I am playing? shoot...what do you mean by "pitch" the samples. Basically, if I was to change the pitch/tempo of one slice of the sample, I would like for the other slices pitch/tempo to change respectively. See what was happening is this: I would load up a rex file. Then I would go about playing to get a melody, pitches, tempo, and/or sequence together. But when I started speeding up or slowing down the sample only that particular slice would change. So if I liked how that slice sounded I would have to make the other slices match that one (does that make sense). That ends up being a very long process and takes away from creation time. I would have to say ok, I moved this pitch (rootkey) this many times....so I need to move this one the same amount of time so everything matches up.... It just takes too long to do all that (and I feel like it's not using time to it's full potential.) During my reading and research and testing I found this out: One major difference between the NN19 and the NN-XT is the XT allows you to do editing to the individual samples and not as a whole...(unless I misunderstood), the NN19 does allow you to edit the pitch, etc. of the sample as a whole. I really need to find some resources and programs on time stretching. I want to use a mac program cause running parallels (windows applications) takes too much memory...and between Reason and Logic, I need all the processing power that I can have available. I know you all suggested something before didn't you? Just seems like you should be able to use Reason and Recyle to achieve the same results. |

You can pitch all your slices/samples at once, ctrl+a will select all samples and then you can do modify whatever you want. Is this what you're talking about? Sorry I'm kinda confused.

you have to select the zone you want to modify, change the pitch and do the same for each zone
