Not bad man.. I would speed up the vocal sample on the hook just a tad... To me it kind of seems a little too drawn out... But You may have made it that way on purpose...

I like it... Nice R&B/Hip-Hop track... could be used either one or both... Which is what a succesful track is all about... Versatility...

in comparison to the other one though...does this one have the "knock" that you all are talking about? I did run this one through a limiter and a compressor of some kind...I will check on the mastering suite combi that you suggested...

Yeah it does have a pretty hard hitting sound... Personally.. on this style of track.. I try to double up on the Kick (2 different kick sounds)... and doing that and tuning right usually presents a nice pounding sensation... The hard part is EQing it and adjusting the levels to get rid of any distortion..
Doing this and synchronizing a nice Bass instrument to hit at the same time as the kicks is what gives it that HIT you know?
My fav bass sound in reason is the Dirty South Sub instrument in the Bass/Synth Bass folder of the factory sounds.. Open that up and turn the "MIX" knob all the way to the right (that will get rid of that Phaser effect it has...)

P.S.
The Mastering suite combi is something you should use at all times.. It really gives your tracks a MUCH better sound to them.. Industry worthy....

What i did was opened up an empty rack, added the mastering suite combi on top, and the big Mixer underneath it.. Turned on quantitize, and click.. and saved it as "startup" then in your options menu you can tell the program to open up Reason using that layout everytime so you dont have to worry about adding everything...

the sample, synth and everythin seems ok, but them drums are like bags of air and that snare sounds like you're dropping salt on the floor. sorry but i'm a big fan of heavy chunky drums.

keep at it though. it's obvious you have a musical talent.

did you loop the piano sample or is that chopped?

That is me playing the piano and then I looped it....

I think it was a 20 bar loop, maybe a little shorter.

But that is ME playing. no sample bro.

You've got a good ear.

Drum heavyness is definitely a matter of taste, not necessity. I think the drum samples for what you've linked up suit it perfectly but again, my two cents are just that - - more subjectivity. The sample sounds fine to me also, maybe a little slow but it gives the beat a push-pull feel which I think complements it.

I like it

what does everyone mean about the speed of the sample...speeding it up...if I speed it up any more it will change the tempo...(duh), but that will make me have to speed up the entire track. it will also change the pitch of the sample, which will make me have to change the key of the song...(know what I mean)

The entire time stretch concept is not going too well...I want to be able to stretch a loop over a certain amount of measures (speed up or slow down) without having to change the pitch...has not been to exciting getting that correct. I've have actually stopped trying (i dont want to turn this into a time stretch thread) but what I do now is find the section of the song that I want to sample and chop it up using recycle, then I use the nn-xt to put it into my reason track. I get the exact part that I want in my song and speed that up to my liking and then make the tempo and key (pitch) of the song based around that...it's been the easy way to go so far...

(i have another thread already on this next statement, so look for it please)

when I change the root key (pitch, tempo) of one slice it is the only slice that changes....what if I want all the slices to change accordingly....as of now, if I change one slice, then when I get to another slice that I also want to use, I have to change the root key (pitch, tempo) of that one too...

I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO CHANGE ALL THE SLICES AT ONCE.

there probably is a way to do this, I just can't figure out how.
