Default trigger finger with NO NOTE ON messages?

hi i'm having the strangest trigger finger issues with reason 4.
let me first say that the device is new, and works fine in pro tools
so i'm confident that there's some fine print i'm missing.

i've got the trigger finger on a separate bus and properly installed.
i've even got it locked to a REDRUM.
however, even though i can trigger sounds and record slider movements
reason will not show that i've recorded and NOTE events.
the all important green midi sequencer track flash isn't working either.
and it only triggers when channel mapped through the ADVANCE MIDI
rack at the top.
interestingly enough it won't let me make the trigger finger the master keyboard. that option is greyed out.

i looked for a driver, but m-audio said it was class compliant and didn't need one.
i'll look again.

it's been a few days and i'm really at a loss.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
i bought the trigger mainly for REASON and now it makes a great paperweight. (although it's going to rock when i get it mapped properly for BFD.)

also, feel free to listen to my music.
alot of the drum machine parts are REASON.

thanks

Default forget it! i fixed it.

THE PROBLEM:

when i installed the control surface,
i selected MIDI CONTROL SURFACE and not KEYBOARD CONTROL SURFACE
it did not occur to me that the trigger finger IS a keyboard, that just uses pads instead of keys. so reason wasn't looking for note on data.

i guess this could have been avoided if reason had included the trigger finger in the list of common midi surfaces. silly prop heads.

the trigger finger rocks!

especially with multi sampled libraries like reason drum kits.

Default

Glad you could get it sorted out!

I'm gonna order an axiom 25 soon, hopefully I can set that up without too much of a hassle.
