| This is not really a "Reason" question but I'm just looking for advice as I'm thinking of buying the "EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra" (most likely the Gold or the Silver series as the Platinum is waaay too expensive). But I don't know if my computer will run it even though from their website I meet the minimum requirements. Here are my computer specs: I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop. Here are my specs: * Pentium M Centrino 2.00GHz processor * 2GB DDR ram * I have an onboard multimedia soundcard that doesn't support ASIO drivers.. I will be using an M-Audio USB2.0 or firewire interface that does support ASIO, and of course a controller) Does anyone here have experience with the EastWest symphony? QUESTION: Do I have enough power to run the EastWest symphony mainly for pop music background orchestration??? Or would I be wasting my money? TIA, Rick |

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS # 15 GB Free Hard Disc Space, DVD Drive # MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (for Native Instruments software) # Windows XP/ME/98, Pentium III/Athlon 500 Mhz, 256 MB RAM # Mac OS 9.2, OS 10.2.6 or higher, G3 500 Mhz, 256 MB RAM # RECOMMENDED SYSTEM (for Native Instruments software) # Windows XP, P III/Athlon 700 MHz, 1 GB RAM # Mac OS 9.2, OS 10.2.6 or higher, G4 733, 1 GB RAM # RECOMMENDED SYSTEM (for sound library) # EASTWEST recommends using a fast processor and up to 1.5 GB of free RAM to optimize the performance of this sound module. # COMPATIBILITY # WIN (VST®2.0, DXi2™, ASIO™, MME™, Direct Sound™, **RTAS™) Looking at those requirements, you should be able to use it. I've never used anything by Eastwest but that Goliath does look tempting. You could try asking the same thing on the KVR forums http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/ I'm sure more people have experience with east west over there. |
