So we all use this fantastic program that is Reason and we're trying to create our own original tracks and hopefully produce a hit one day. One thing I've never been able to find though is tips on how to produce the common sounds / loops that are the basis for many genre's of music, specifically dance music. For instance to create a good dance track there are typically certain elements you want eg: drum rolls that peak at the end of the 16th/32nd beat, filters that progress the synth or climax the drum beat, reverse hats with delay that add space and get you one step closer. Sure you can disobey the rules but you get the idea.
So the tip I'm after is how to create the most popular and to me the fundamental sound for any dance track - that swooshing long and progressive jet flying over the head sound that builds and climaxes before introducing your next kicking beat or bass line. Have I explained that enough? The closest I've come is using the Maelstrom synth, using pinknoise as the wave and using the filter to slowly produce that awesome sound. Does anybody have any other ideas on how to get this sound or tips on creating the other fundamental elements of dance that bring ones track one step closer to that hit??
