Default Sound volume build-up, and how to make clean synths.

Now I have run into another problem. There's so much to do with Reason, yet I know probably 1/10ths of it. How do I record sounds building up in volume? Like it starts really low, or with a different effect and such to make it sound deep, then it slowly builds up to a loud sound.

I also would like to know an effect to make synth sounds clear and bright, without searching like a maniac. Or if there's a certain synth sound that can be made clear and bright, that would help also.

Thank you.

For the volume, you just need to automate controls. To do this, create a track for a device if it has not already got a track by right clicking it and selecting "Create track for ___". Then, choose the knob/fader/button that you want to record with and select "Edit Automation". Then you can either hit record and use your mouse the move the control, or use the pencil to draw automation patterns. This means that the knob will move by itself once you record which way to want to to move.

You can by hardware control surfaces (e.g. BCR-2000) which are physical knobs/faders/buttons which can be assigned to certain controls in the software Reason Rack, which is good for live performances or even just recording. I got one for just over 100 dollars.

Ah, thank you very much, that helps me quite well. And I will look into that BCR-2000 when I get some cash.
