Default no Line tool!! grrrrr

hi i recently upgraded from 3.0 to 4.0, i love the new version, its sweet, but something that really p's me off is there is no line tool in the editing tools! I always used this in 3.0 to fade in my bass lines, but now i would have to click on every individual note and change its velocity instead of just drawing a line through the whole lot!

anyone got any help? or ideas?

thanks

You could fade your bass lines by automating the volume of your used device. Automation can be drawn without the line tool because since V4 every automation data is edited with points and lines between this point (you better just try it, to understand, what I mean. ;-) )

yeah I miss the line tool too, but you can just use the pencil tool to draw all the vector points and edit them until there's only to vector points and the line between them is going at a perfect slant. It's a bit harder now but not that much. BRING BACK THE LINE TOOL

I believe, if you try it out a few times, it is better than V3.
Imagine you want a fade out automation. In V3 you would have clicked the line tool button then drawed the line. In V4 you just hold the ALT-Key (from the normal "pointer mode") click the start point of your line and click the end point. And there is your line! It is as quick as in V3 if not quicker, becaus you donīt have to change the mode 2 times (after releasing the ALT-key, you are in "pointer mode" again) , but you have also more precision.
