I donīt know Vista, but I think at first windows should say "new hardware detected", when you plug your device into the usb-port. then windows should install or load the nesessary driver. After this, you should be able to setup your umx in reason. you can check, if it is available by going into the preferences and look what MIDI Devices are availabe in the listboxes on the "Advanced MIDI"-Page. (you donīt have to setup anything on this page. Itīs just to see, if your device shows up correctly). If so, you can set it up as a controller surface (like explained in the manual).

Vista detects the midi controller and says your new hardware is ready to use. when I goto the preferences page and goto advanced midi you have four boxes midi a,b,c & d and the umx25 appears BUT when I goto the midi devices and keyboard setup tab the umx25 will not appear :-S kind of confusing realy, I was using 2.5 for a while because I uninstalled 3.0 temperaraly and lost my install discs for 3.0 and the midi controller worked fine with 2.5 so now its kind of fustrating!! behringer nor propellerhead are offering me and kind of help atall and ther are no driver updates available as far as I can see so im begining to feel like im at a dead end or im doing something thats completly obvious wrongly!! if anybody has any sujestions feel free to reply..... p.s anybody know how to make niche basslines???? thanks |

Did you try to add your device via the "add"-button or via "auto detect"? I have heard, that sometimes the autodetect function doesnt work correctly.
