all you need to do to automate anything is create a sequencer track for it -- then the easiest thing to do is right click on whatever button, switch or dial you wish to automate and click 'edit automation' -- your lane is created in the sequencer and there you -- you can automate it the same way you would automate something on the mixer (which you have figured out)

Yes, the reason you can't automate those effects devices is because you haven't yet created a sequencer track for them. In the Reason Rack, right click on one of these FX devices, e.g. RV7000, and at the bottom of the drop-down list you'll see "Create track for RV7000". Then you just automate the device like you normally would.

Either that or you can combine the instrument and program the Reverb units knobs to the combinator controls. All the options in the reverb drop down box need to be done this way as you can't right click and edit there automation.

The is an arpreggiator it's in the device list with every thing else.
