| Anyway I was just wondering is there a way to press play on reason and have it actually play through reason? Im sure thats how it worked at college but for some reason mine only wants to play through cubase(and the link between the two doesnt always work). Could someone really explain to me how to do things as Im rather stuck! Thanks |

Hey dude, I'm totally new to it as well. Only been playing with it for about 6 hours so far, was up all night on Saturday using it lol. Not sure exactly what your problem is, but your best bet to learn is go on YouTube and search for Reason tutorials! There are loads of really helpful beginner tutorials on there for all genres of music! www.youtube.com HTH! |

Actually, what you need to do is configure your device so that, say, the bass drum is C1, the snare is C#1, the Hi-hat is G#1 etc.

Hi, Dont apologise bud - We all get headaches with this stuff! lol I am no great Reason genius (yet) but I am learning... Here's a few things I feel we all need to know about connectivity between Cubase and Reason ALWAYS open Cubase first and Reason second. Always close Reason first and THEN Cubase. In Cubase go to DEVICES - PANEL - REASON ... Then arm the top 2 tracks by clicking on their buttons - they will light up.(You will see a new track appear in the Cubase arrange page that controls the output coming BACK from the Reason rack if you have done it right). THIS action is what provides a link between the two programs - Now both programs will run in sync. This all works because it's getting a program called REWIRE to make Cubase and Reason to talk to each other - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST VERSION - You can download all updates free from the propellerheads site. If you look at the top left hand of the Reason rack you will see REWIRE or BUILT IN AUDIO lit up. You should see REWIRE lit up if the above is all OK. If you want to run Reason on it's own, just open it on it's own - You should (in that case) see BUILT IN AUDIO light up. Sorry if I have missed anything, but as you know, this stuff is one problem after another - but you do start feeling like you are swimming in clear blue water if you just wont quit. Remember, you ARE learning but we all need the basics to 'see' how to sort problems on our own - I aint got there yet! lol All the best, Jules |
