sounds like fun, although i am teh suck at making tunes. so wouldnt be able to do like remixing or anything like that.

But either way, either a contest or a chain track would be cool.

Thumbs up IDEA ....ahaaa

how about an instrumental comp...

post an instrumental
  1. must be produced completely in reason ..
  2. you must use at least 2 sample(s) of any sort ... any tempo ...
  3. must be at least 2 min long with intro
and must be all your own work ...
  4. the file must be in RPS
(reason published song format) thats just to cover your
    arseso no1 jacks your work
  5. if you need a cool splash to show off when your song opens
    i have a few posted at seedlessstudios.com.

now ... bring on the music
i guess ill go first

Sinister Keys Instrumental

when i open the rps file it tells me the bangin beats refill is missing and that some samples couldn't be found so i probably was listening to an incomplete beat... it sounds really dope to me though. nice work.
sadly i'm new to reason, making my first steps so theres nothing to show...

Ya what's the deal with BAnging Beats Refill? I don't have it. I tried searching online, but there appears to be no mention of it anywhere. I am missing 12 samples because of it.

I feel I am vastly underutilizing Reason's potential. After seeing sinister_keys RPS setup I'm floored by the sheer number of devices he is using in there. I usually don't go over 16 midi tracks in my Reason songs. Is that just me?

Reason is an open book with no text man ... you write what you want ...

The way I use Reason is as though it were a Triton or Motif workstation, since that is the type of setup I used before I started using Reason. So I play everything in from my M-Audio Keystation controller. Sometimes I use samples depending on what kind of sound I'm aiming for.

Basically I play in my parts, add a few effects, mix and call it a track once I've got the sound I like.

What amazed me was how each sound in sinister_keys RPS was routed to a different effect, EQ and/or compressor. This is more of a studio setup as opposed to a keyboard workstation setup. I guess since I also use Cubase as my main DAW environment, I just never thought to do all that within Reason itself. My eyes have been opened to a new world of Reason possibilities.

See that's what forums like this are for. To help others learn new things about the tools they already have so they can grow and develop.

Now, back on topic, I will post an RPS when I get home.
