Default help me out please.

hey guys, weird problem. i asked awhile ago about upgrading to 4.0 from 3.0. I decided to go for it and am loving 4.0. The sounds are great and has a great ease of use. But all the songs I had with reason 3.0 sound different with 4.0. I rewire into sonar 7 and all my tracks sound airy and wimpy and phased weird... just not good. but if i open a new song and start to work all the sounds are fine.

Whats going on here? am i missing something?

sometimes if you play sounds over each other you get phase/scale, so maybe you're previewing a device while playing it? eg dr rex?

thats happened to me before and i know what you mean. unfortunetely, thats not it. both the songs are literally exactly the same. In reason 3, they sound fine. When played rewired to reason 4, they sound whack.

go to www.reverbnation.com/blazestickboyproductions

i have 2 versions of the same beat there. The song called 2 beat beat - for sale, is the verion with reason 3, the other version of 2 beat beat is reason 4, and there is a huge difference. The claps are most apparent, but pianos and kicks sound weird too.

im going to leave that song up for the rest of the day so people can check it out and maybe they can help me.

checked it out - that's very weird. The phaser, not the song, that is

so, yeah, i've been trying to get sonar, but i haven't got it yet. I'm not sure how it works exactly, so it might a good idea to go to a cakewalk forum for advice too?

not much i can think of, because it's affecting all instruments I think that it must be something to do with mastering? check that out and get back to me

P.S. - Where the hell has S.G. gone? lol

P.P.S - I really love Jungle Fever!

thanks for the input man. i truly appreciate you taking the time out to try and help me. Also, I appreciate the love on the song. It's one of my fave's too.

I'll hit up cakewalks forum. Ive been thinking so hard on what it could be, but the fact remains, on reason 3, that doesnt happen. Also, if I start a newsong in reason 4, the instruments sound fine... this is really getting to me.

This sounds like it has do with sonar.

really? I was running sonar 7 with reason 3 and it was great. WHat do you think sonar would be doing differenly to alter the sounds from 3.0 to 4.0.

I'm not too sure - I have no idea how sonar works, but, like I said, it seems like this has to do with mastering - probably in sonar? Sorry, but that's all I can really say... you'd probably get more help on a sonar forum.

Why it worked with 3.0 but not with 4.0 I don't know either

well as far as mastering in sonar. its eq, compression, and a little limiting. i turned them all off and im still hitting the same problem. but the audio tracks i have in sonar are fine, just the MIDI coming from reason 4.

HERE I AM. Don't worry I haven't been kidnapped or anything just been a little busy lately. I suggested stickyboy to reinstall reason on another forum where he posted the same problem but I can see he already did that. I completely forgot that one was mixed down in sonar. I bet that sonar has something to do with it. I can't really tell you exactly what is because I haven't installed sonar on my pc yet. Like I said, been busy lol.
