| Then one day, many years later I was on a music forum similar to this and asked for some advice from the other guys on what keyboard I should buy because I was looking for a new one. I told them my existing setup of a Korg M1, Yamaha PSR410, Yamaha TG300 and a Yamaha MU90. They laughed and told me to look into soft synths. I had no idea what a soft syth or VST was until a mate at work told me about Reason. I saw it on his computer.... My brother would have creamed in his pants if he had seen it, He died about a year before Reason came on the scene. |

Started with various 4 channel trackers way way back. Digitracker was one of them I think. Then fruityloops and then I found Reason one day. I almost had an instantaneous orgasm just from looking at all the knobs! |

I started using it as I had been ito goa-techno stuff for a while, mucked about on Playstation's Music 2000 and needed something more serious to work with. A friend introduced me to Reason and i've been hooked ever since. Lost all my earlier files- twice, but that was just 'practice' really. Oh yeah- as an 8-year-old I was given a Boss drum synth with a programmable sequencer and mod/pitch bend and managed to get basic sounding stuff out of that. When 17/18 or so I was then given a Roland SH101 to play with and at about that time lent a copy of The Beginners Guide to the Galaxy of Psy Trance 2xCD album which sparked my interest in psy/goa stuff. Got into the dj'ing thing but have buried that as now I simply just enjoy writing and collaborating with anyone interesred. |

I just started using it, my background is in Graphic design and visual art, but have always loved electronic music. I really wanted a new challenge and so far it's certainly been a good learning curve. My inspiration is music like underworld, Aphex Twins and other trance and ambient music. |

"Why did you start using Reason?" Because, my seven string guitar [now collecting dust] will not remember songs, that I have written. And, I'm done with bands reason, for the win! |

1980 I started with Musicmaker for Amiga. After that I bought a windows-pc and Soundblster AWE 32 with 8 Mb sample ram & Digital Orchestrator (Audio/Midiseq.) Then moved to Cubase 3 & Yamaha XG soundcard and external midi equipment ... Soon thereafter i try reason v1. It was like nothing i've ever seen . Now I'm makeing music with reason v4 some time. I love reason |

well i studied it in College... so i start using it at home also... fell in love with it few months ago, but there are downfalls i've heard about the history of Reason and it is used by many officail artists and DJ's so it, is a great music software not like FL Studio which seems to be for Asboe kids that rap on there FL Beats lol but yeah there are somethings Reason can not do... but it is the only software i can probably use and know my way around mostly basics...

I used FL Studio before and I didn't like the basses, the reverbs and such. I know that this can of course be worked on and enhanced, but Reason has better stuff by default. Also, I don't like FL's interface very much. Reason is nice because it looks like pure hardware. |
