I started out when i was about 13 or 14 with Acid, putting loops together, making horrible trance music... lol then i decided to pay more attention to guitar, started a band, that fell threw of course... then met, now one of my best friends, in highschool, he played guitar as well, but was wanting to cater to more of a hip-hop vibe... so he introduced me to fruity loops, I used it non-stop for about 2 years, then I got the guts up to try to mess with Reason, though it looked like it was going to be hell trying to figure it out... that was about 4 or 5 years ago now... Even the first crappy track i made in reason had amazing sound quality compared to the instruments in FL. I fell in love with reason and its very low latency and low CPU usage, which allowed me to use more than 3 instruments and not start going CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP like in FL.. HAHA |

My wife purchased REASON for me way back around 2002 or so... maybe version 1... it sat on my bookshelf for years and then towards the end of my first record, I was looking for something "unique" for the last song we were recording. I installed REASON and started to dabble with it in REWIRE mode playing along to my sequencer in DP. Finally after about 2 hours or so I was able to get something done that fit the chorus the way I heard it... this rhythmic pulse... after that I started to fool around with REDRUM and getting some loops going. Before long I was producing demos for my next record keeping everything in REASON. I was blown away by the power and flexibility it offered. Now for my second record, it is the only sound mod I use. I run DP alongside it for audio and its flawless. As a side note: I have tried working with LIVE several times but cannot seem to wrap my head around the workflow/layout. I`m sure its an awesome program but I found REASON to be much more intuitive and inspiring to work with so far.

One of my friend first inform me about Reason. After digging I found it perhaps the only software avilable for those who like to create music only through vsti etc. I am rewaring with Nuendo. |

Well ... it was back in the 90īs , i lived together with my girlfriend (now my ex-gf) , when she asked me to buy a Playstation one , her bro had one ... seem to be cool then ... , i didnt care for the games , but then ive been infected by one uhh aplication called "Music" ... it was a simple loop-based program ... but tickled my interest ... Then we bought our first PC , and off course ... it came with a modem (56k :O) ... Dunno if google allready excists then ... but my first search-command was "music program" ... , Fruity loops sound fine ... so iv'e download the demo ... , and played with it untill i was bored with it (and that was fast ...) , So days went by , till i was pointed to a Reason 2.5 demo ... I liked it , i liked it that much i refused to install VST-based programs since then ... And now ... well ... Im fortunate ive got a uncle in the music-scene , and he gave my Reason 4 (and recycle) for my B'Day ... , so he knew what i was talking about ... But after all ... Why i did start using Reason ? The looks , the possibility's , the quality , the fact everything works in Reason ! thats why ... Greetzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Remy aka SCEZ (Xcuse me for my English ... ) |

All started when i was doing a schoolwork with some mates and then, one mate puted on some psytrance cd old gms, paresense, infected mushroom, goa gil mixes, and i never eared psytrance before but then i though wow this is really cool, i already listened aphex twin, basement jaxx, but those psytrance basslines and patterns and sounds are really great, then i start searching on the internet how they do it, in the beginning i though that was made all by hardware and with tapes, but then i founded a bunch of people in irc with more knowledge in the field and they said no you can do it with your computer, you have flstudio, reason, cubase, then i start searching for the software around 2 years just messing around with them learning and didn't had any connection with music before, but then i chose reason 3, more light for the computer and i like it because it is an hardware emulator, is ergonomic, i think the sound of reason is closer thing you can get to emulate the analog hardware electronic sounds, and like subtractor, thor, maelstrom, rv7000, combinator is great and the all reason system makes great sense to me...

back in 2000 i had been vinyl djing for about 5 years and a friend suggested that we should try and make a few tunes.. the first prog i used was on the playstation 1 called music 2000 (HEY SCEZ !! HA HA ).. christ it was shite !!! then a guy at the music shop where i used buy mixers and stuff said he could get me a copy of reason for 30 quid !!! bastard.. anyway i bought it off him and after two years using it i decided to try out ableton live and vsts.. i now use the two together with rewire getting the best of both worlds !! its a pity reason can't support vst technology because there are a lot of good ones out there. perhaps in the next version ? i find the reverb effects and filters in reason are far superior and less cpu comsuming than any plugins i have used. here is a track i recently completed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1iaG1HNJS4&fmt=18 |

Well i was tired of looking to other people and websites for instrumentals, it hinders the creative process. When you want to write and record a song, you want to do it NOW. And when you need a beat, you need it NOW. Because when that stroke of genius hits you, you don't want to let it slip away.
