yeah tempo can be a problem which is why it's best to make it rex, an load it into a rex player, just slice it first in recycle.

first of all you get recycle (illegal link which reasonforum does not condone Load it up, and go into the file menu, and click on "open". Then, browse for the sample you want to use and double click on it. It will buffer and you can play the sample. Then you have to set the slices, you can do this manually, or automatically, the best way to do it is automatically. You'll see a slider that says "sens", when you move this is will automatically detect different slices. You shouldn't use too many or too few slices, the sens slider should be at around 60-80. Then you have to get the tempo, which can be tricky. It will usually be off slightly, unless you have cut your loop perfectly cleanly. Anyway, you'll see at the top-right hand corner: Bars: 0.00 Beats: 0 Sign: 4/4 Change these appropriately, and you'll get a tempo for your loop. You should be able to tell if it's too fast/slow easily, just tweak the time signature (sign). Then click on the "preview toggle" button at the top of the screen and the tempo will change according the the bars, beats and sign. You can now save it by pressing File>Save As. Then you just go into your reason rack on load the rx2 file into your rex loop player. Here's an example of vocals chopped in recycle.
