Default Fuller Sound

Hey Guys, no, I dont want to get on your nervs, but I am getting more and more comfortable with my beats (just a lil lazy). But my biggest Problem is: a fuller sound. The insruments just not sound Professional, not so full. I just wnated to know what you do to make e.g. a String sound more Fuller, a kind of Scott Storch Style. I tried it with Reverb, it helps a little bit, but it isnīt perfect yet. And when I try to Stack instuments the sound gets fuller in a Way, but it sounds Kind of weird. And some Octaves just sound terrible with some Instruments. So my Problem is basicly the Melody Stuff, cuz my Drums are good, for me. I love the Drums, mostly I do some Drums and then I quit cuz I know im gonna mess it up with the synth or the Keys. So, enough written, please Help me guys.......

Sorry for much Text......

and.....can you tell me some real blowin Synths and Strings? In that mass of Sounds i kinda lost the view. Im really into Scott Storch Stuff, espcially his Beats for Lil Wayne and Chris Brown......so that you know what kind of style i Like. Should be Free.....or not too expensive.....

I know what you mean but here's the thing when you say that sometimes laying instruments "sound weird" you have to realize that when that happens you're doing something wrong. All instruments that you pick should compliment each other, if they're not doing that, well youre picking the wrong instrument in the first place Kinda harsh but true, believe me I used to do the same thing all the time. Also try the different levels for the instruments being layered, try using a m class equilizer to knock off or some unwanted frequencies for certain instruments. Try using a M class stereo imager to get a wider sound. And finally if you're not satisfied with all those methods, you could output certain instruments in reason to a DAW (protools, ableton, cubase) and use a VST to further tweak the sounds. I recommend Izotope's Ozone 3 it's freakin' awesome. The first thing to remember is that each all your instrument's should compliment each other and fit together.

Hope that helps at least a little bit.

I do the following:

Ad some effects
Make some sounds stereo
Get better samples
and very important, put a bassline in it or give your sounds more bass and lower a bit the high tones

Hope this helps...
