Only 1st synth have sound

Hello guys, I'm fairly new to Reason and I'm in need of some guidance. When I start a new project and add a synth, for example Maelstrom, the synth seems to work fine and have sound in the edit mode. However, when I add a SECOND synth (or third, forth, and so on), none of them have any sound! What's going on??

Use a mixer

Load a patch.

Is this just with synths? or any other instrument you add after you create the 1st one. Are you using a mixer so you can hear the multiple devices you create?
