question about MIDI

just bought a set of Yamaha electronic drums and wanted to use samples in the ReDrum triggered by the drum pads but can't seem to get the samples in reason to trigger.
the drum unit has a midi out port and the midi channels are all preset as far as i can figure...the manual sucks as far as midi goes.

try loading the same sample(s) in an nnxt.
