Hey guys. Well, tomorrow afternoon I have a pretty reputable mangement firm coming to my studio because they heard a few of my tracks on the radio and they were thinking of taking me on. There are no details yet and I did go to school for music business so I know what to look out for. I did my research and they are killing it. We havent talked out any details, they just want to come by my studio and hear my newer beats. I feel my songs are very strong and they can win them over, but does anyone have any advice about what to say to these people, other then the obvious?

I mean, I am going to be polite, of course, but I want to come off confident, not cocky. I want them to know I think that if they dont take me on, I'll find someone else who will. Thats my angle anyway.

Anyways, thanks for all the help in the past month or so. I truly appreciate it.

thanks man. i appreciate it. thats my gameplan. Tonight I went through all my beats and picked out my fave's, some with vox and some without. im nervous. it'll be good. lol

well. that was interesting. I was told today by a management company that, "You'll never get anywhere making beats for rappers because you're white." and that was that, i told him to show himself out.

It was really uncalled for. He said my music was hot and it could sell, if i was black. I have my own style, Im realy a rockhead so my style says that. I dont really keep up with trends that are in with the hip hop world, so what? music is music.

anyway, im arranging to send my stuff out to other teams because at the very least, he had nothing but good things to say about my beats, just not me, as a person.

That really sucks, hope you can get more opportunities though, it's so sad how labels only seem to care about having the "right image" and not great music.

tell me about it. like a million other people in the world, i think my songs have what it takes to break through. I know that its about making your own breaks, nothing will happen if you dont try and make moves. so oh well, i'll move on and hopefully one day, i can call these people up and laugh at them because they had a chance... i know i may sound vain, but i dont mean to be. im just trying to say i hope one day i can show them that i had something they just didnt see.

but you're right... it shouldn't really be about the image, more about the actual music. You should try out Warp records... most of their artists are weird nerds... so seeing how you're normal you would probably get away with it
