| I just updated my DAW because i want to get into this hardcore. I run WinXP with Reason 3.0 and a boatload of refills. I just bought a Roland Edirol PCR-500 MIDI controller and I love it, but I know very little about MIDI. I need help. I also got an Alesis 8 track USB recording deck. Anyway, when I record in Reason, i can record notes but when i finish recording them the notes all hold out from the moment i push them until i click stop recording. I cant effectively use my keyboard this way. any ideas? also can anyone reccomend a good book that is not only broad enough to cover my hardware and softwaare but easy enough for someone with novice experience in MIDI. I know lots about PCs and digital audio just not MIDI. Please help. reply here or johnnyrathmann@hotmail.com. Thanks a lot i really appreciate your time i know how long it takes to type some shit like this. |

MIDI is simple enough. Most of the dirty work is done automatically, but still, Reason can be a tricky bastard when it comes to detecting a MIDI device, especially controllers. I'd be glad to help you, if I can, but I don't understand what problem you're having. If you could just rephrase it I'd be happy to help.
