| 1. I know how to get a song and chop it up and put it in the sampler, my question is how do you find the exact tempo of that song so I can use redrum to add beats to the samples? What methods do you guys use? 2. I have reason 3.04, and i have the axiom surface controller, so reason does recognize my keyboard. But how do I get all of the knobs, volume controls, and the play, record, rew, ff, buttons to work? I recalled preset 10 and nothing changes. 3. Also i have noticed and all of my friends notice that when ever i press a drum pad or a key on the keyboard, (i think) there is a delay, how do i get rid of this delay it makes it really hard to do percussion on tempo because it never plays right when i press down on the key. I think it works perfect on a mac though, i have a pc. |

Well for question number 1 when you say "I know how to chop up and use samples" do you mean you know how to use recycle? For question 2 i dont have that keyboard so cant help you there For question 3 go to edit>preferences> then the "page" audio. And adjust the sample rate and buffer size so you have a lower latency. See if that helps. Hoped that help at least a little bit. |

I'm afraid thats going to be a problem. You see, you can't change the tempo of every sound in reason. You can only change the tempo of the whole track. I think this is the biggest negative thing of reason. I heard you can change it with reason 4, though. Have you recently bought reason? If so, you can buy reason 4 for 90 dollars when it's released. Another way to solve this problem is by using Cubase or a similair program. |

By the way, I have a PCR-300 and I can't use my knobs and stuff either. I think it sucks. I don't know how to fix it. I can use my keys though, just like you. So if you can fix this problem, PLEASE(!) let me know...it gives me sleeples nights nobody doesn't seem to know how to fix this either. |

for all the controls on your keyborad, go to "options" > "edit keyboard mapping" or something to that sort (not in front of it right now...). When you do this, the screen will gray out, and all you do is double-click on what ever it is in your rack that you want to control via midi, then simply move the midi control. tada! do this for everything until your controls are used up. I have the new MPK 49 by akai that Im testing for them, and THAT is a bad mother. As far as the "start-stop", you have to sync the midi with reason. that option is at the bottom where your transport controls are. again, i'm not right in front of it, but it's on the right side i think. Best of luck!!! C.Mizza, Raise Up Productionz |

greggumz: That can happen, there can be a number of reasons for this, for example sound card delay, and this can be fixed usually. I have to go now but I think I have some info on how to stop this from happening... in the mean time just use the pencil tool or quantize.

what i was talking about was the latency that you're having when you play something on your keyboard. I can't find anything online, yet, but I'm sure that you have to change settings in your sound card settings. You can probably do this by going into Control Panel.
