Hi all,

The magic ingredient which is likely missing from your system when using Reason is "M-Audio_Reason_Control_Surface_v7.exe"

This is what I did...

1. Went to the M-Audio website and downloaded the latest Vista32 SP2 Midi drive and Enigma Software (Support -> Drivers & Updates) - why? Coz the disc that came with the Axiom 49 was not working for Vista32 SP2.
(sorry - couldn't put links due to newness of membership )

2.) Plugged the keyboard in - all seemed to detect ok

3.) Installed Reason 4

4.) [AVOID THIS STEP] Auto detect wasn't working - so selected the whole 'Other Midi Control Keyboard' and my Axiom was available in the drop downs - but not as Auto Detect...arrrg

5.) Closed Reason

6.) Searched Youtube ... oh wonder site ... and there was a tute which mentioned the Control Surface V7.

7.) Downloaded the Control Surface v7
(sorry - couldn't put links due to newness of membership )
[Note: this version claims to be for XP and Reason 3 - but I use Vista32 SP2 and Reason 4 - worked for me - so when looking for drivers on m-audio - u may need to select XP as ur OS for the Control Surface v7]

8.) Made sure both Keyboard was unplugged and Reason was closed.

9.) Installed the Control Surface v7

10.) Plugged the keyboard in and powered it up

11.) Opened Reason

12.) Selected 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'Keyboards & Control Surfaces' (drop down) -> Selected and 'Deleted' all my previously bodged manually added control surfaces one at a time until the 'Attached Surfaces' was empty

13.) Clicked 'Auto Detect Surfaces'

14.) It detected and I selected OK to the prompt

15.) The keyboard is now in the attached surfaces - Yaaay - close the preferences now.

16.) ON THE AXIOM -> pressed 'Recall' then typed '10' using the keypad on the Axiom

17.) Should be good to go

PS. Youtube is a wonder for tutorials too

Hope this helps
