Default Revew my hip hop track, Please.

Here's the link:

I just want to say one thing, I wanted the track to be pretty simple, kind of oldschoolish.

Anyway tell me how's the mix and your overall opinion on it. Feedback is appreciated.

I love the effects you gave the piano, and you got the perfect drum kit for the job.

I think that it's finished

i like the piano sounds too. but i think the strings and the piano are not on the same keyand they create dissonance, which is kind of ruining and otherwise good song.

tune the strings so that they match the key the piano is in and you got yourself a great hip hop track

Default Hip hop track

I think it sounds nice.

Since the beat doesn't drag much attention, because you wanted to keep it simple, you should make sure that the vocals are unique and creative.

So keep on the good work!

Ha, I mostly use Sonic Reality's refills for bass and strings and all that. But the piano wasn't played by me, it was a sample that I took from an old vinyl record.

I did all the sampling, instrument use, and song arrangement in Reason. Then I opened Ableton Live 6 and created three rewire channels seperating it in Drums, The sampled piano, and then Strings. I used Izotope's Ozone 3 (A vst mastering program) on all the channels to complete. then I made that a wav. Then I imported that wav (now there's no need for using rewire) and used izotope once more to do the final mastering on the song. Exported it as a wav again and now I'm done.

So basically I used reason to compose then ableton and ozone 3 to "master" the song.
