In Reason (Rack):

Edit> Preferences> Page: Control Surfaces and Keyboards> Add

Then you have to load up a device, like a subtractor, by right clicking anywhere, and loading up a patch.

you might have to go to m-audio and download the new drivers if the axiom don't show.

Default Clarification

So... I'm new as well and just got the Axiom. Please confirm that I don't need another midi interface like the Lexicon Alpha for example.

Thanks in advance

the axiom is bus powered. all you need is the current drivers and it properly set up in reason.

i had one for two weeks and returned it for a korg microkontrol. IMHO it was a pain to program. the pads felt like crab and sucked badly; the konbs felt like they were going to snap as they clicked; the screen was small and a pain too. the only thing i liked about it was the keys. I try and stay away from m-audio now. their drivers arent the best, and support was always a pain.

after all this about a year and a half later i stumbled upon the novation line of equipment. again, IMHO their remote sl line is awesome; esp because of automap, but the keys on this baby is like butter and the have after touch.
since i already had the microkontrol (native mode is awesome with reason) i didnt need keys and bought the remote zero sl.
