you can't change the tempo of a sample within the nn-xt or any other device inside of reason, you change the temp with the universal tempo control on the bottom of reason. You can however change the pitch of a sample using the nn-xt. just click on the loaded sample within the nn-xt and look for the pitch controls on the bottom

Yeah, the sample changes it's length along with the pitch. Sucks

where else can I change the tempo? In Recycle I push the knob to the fullest but theres no difference to hear? Can you tell me why?
Nother Question, in the NN-XT, how can I get the samples to play to end, not just as long as I hold down the trigger?

I'm not sure where you're getting at with the tempo thing, the only way to change the tempo is as I stated before, as for wanting to play a sample by pressing the key once without holding, just put the "release" knob on the nnxt to it's max. Now when you trigger a sample it should play till it's end without having to hold it.

Yeah, but it never stops... unless you automated it to go to 127, then move back down to 0, that would be ingenious

Couldn't you just automate it? So that when you note starts, it's set to 127, and when you want to it end, it's at -127?

Uhh yeah I guess that's a good idea for if you want your sample to play out one time with the release like that, then other times with the release on the default setting. I usually take samples and don't play them all the way out anyway. I'll only kick up the release setting up a notch because of a super special secret of mine, uhh actually that's not true. I'm just too lazy to explain

Default Answer to your prayers (almost)

Lars,

I just posted a thread here talkin about a new Combi Patch thats part of a Refill by these guys from www.synthsonix.com, and the patch does tempo change (timestretch) of samples in realime, just like a timestretch sampler does..or very close in effect...
the Refill can be downloaded from their site for free...
Its probably as close as you can get to it doing it inside Reason...

Check it out...pretty amazing...
