Default anyone else experience this?

I was tracking a new song in reason today and I noticed that when my migh hats were playing by themselves at a certain part, they sounded different then they do when the kick and snare comes in... they're more wavey sounding and not solid. any idea why thats happening?

They must be all part of the same Redrum machine yes?

You'll find if you listen closley this happens with every instrument all the time, even if only in small amounts.

With drums the effect is greater becasue you can choose how much each hit has athority over another, using a little knob next to the volume knob. If this is turned up for the bass drum, and down for the hats then every time the bass drum hits the volume on the hats drops out to compensate for the bass drum. If you want to overcome this then turn this knob down for the kicks/snares and up for the hats.

Someone else will have to give you a screen shot of the knob i'm talking about.

Yeah, here's the "VEL" knobs. This is dynamics, not volume of course.

Just set the cymbal/hi-hats's velocity knobs high er than anything elses (turn anti-clockwise) and then they'll be resonant.

k I promise, I'll leave everyone alone after this one problem is solved too...

I had a song a I made before I was more familiar with reason and I didnt load up a master suite. I figured it would be okay to add it at the end but all the presets are making the sound very low and spacey with a ton of verb. This newer song, master class was one of the first things I added and just went back to use it later and the presets sound very sharp. Whats the difference?? Why does one song so horrible and the other so good?

P.S. I have 2 seperate compressors and 2 seperate reverb units because at the time I didnt know how to wire certain things up, now I do, so it would make sense to just run 1 compressor and one reverb and just wire them to both my mixers... but that isnt why the mastering sounds horrible is it???

Stickboy,

Sounds ike you may need to post the .rns file for that second problem. Sound like wiring to me.

I assume it has to be wiring. When I begin a new song, if its the first thing I add into the rack. I dont have a problem, but when I add it later, this is what happens.

How do I post it??
