| I have never really used midi. I have generally recorded audio tracks in Live 5.0 using Line 6's Tone Port UX1, and have just now started to mess around with Reason 2.5 and a midi keyboard. I recently purchased a Yamaha E203 keyboard just to play around with. It has Midi capabilities. I have connected it to my computer using an M-Audio Uno USB interface. While using Live 5.0's Operator built in instrument, I noticed the following: Each time I would hit a key on the keyboard, the lights in the application that show the level of input would go on (obviously recognizing the input from the keyboard, with no delay). This part looks good. The problem is, that about 30% of the time, I would hit a key and would get no sound (although the lights would still show input). Now I am trying to run Reason 2.5 I am getting the same problem only slightly worse. Four different things happen when I attempt to use the midi keyboard: 1. The key will play and sound like it should 2. The key will "stick" and the note will simply continue to play (sustain). 3. The key will play, but I get a low, slightly distorted sound (not what is supposed to be played). 4. The key does not play at all. To make matters more confusing, these four possibilities are not specific to certain keys on the keyboard. Each key has both worked and not worked. My guess is it is a playback issue, but I don't know if it may be something more simple than that. I am using the ASIO drivers from the Line 6 Tone Port for my sound card since it is my only option for using ASIO drivers. I would love to find a way to make this work. Reason seems like a lot of fun, I just can't get it to work consistently. Thanks. |

Well I'd say it's your drivers causing all this. Do a search for universal midi drivers. Try updating it and see if the problem continues
