Default Sustain problem

I've two combinator and I've mapped the "Next track" event to a button of my master keyboard.
I play the first combinator and I press the sustain pedal (for example to hold a string chord). Then I switch to the next combinator (without release the sustain pedal to avoid break sound) and play some notes, if I release the pedal, the "sustain off" message is received only by the second combinator, and the first continue to play the same chord. To stop the first combinator I've to re-select it and press and release one more time the sustain pedal (probably in that moment it receive the sustain off message).
Why this happen? Is there a work around solution? Why it happen with sustain midi message and not with note on/off message (if I only play notes and then switch, they don't freeze) ?
