You're recording redrum patterns through automation right? So I don't do it that way often but wouldnt you just automate redrum to start off on a blank pattern then switch to whatever pattern you want to come in? To show you what I mean I created a .rns file doing exactly that. You'll notice in the press play and watch the automation on the patterns to see what I'm talking about. Here is the link to the rns file: http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/11...automation.rns |

| MATRIX: In that small box I was talking about earlier, highlight the Matrix. And then click on the "Controllers" button right next to it on the right. Click on the "Show Controller Lane" button: Then choose "Patern Enable" from the drop down list. You'll see a blue Controller lane, with the text "Pattern Enable" to the mid-left of it, and then 0 at the bottom and 1 at the top. 0 means off, and 1 means on: ![]() Say that you want the pattern to come in on the fourth bar, then use the line tool to make the blue come all the way up (bad vocabulary, sorry), like this: ![]() REDRUM Highlight the Redrum in that box. Select "Show Controller Lane" and then click on the "Controllers" button. From the drop down list select "Master Level". When you want it to be silent, keep it at zero, when you want it to come in, drag it all the way to about 100. If you want it to fade in, drag it up gradually. Hope I've helped.

Thanks. Are there any other ways of doing it, just so I know? [EDIT] Apart from setting it to a blank pattern, then going to A1?

I didn't use a blank pattern to fix my problem with redrum. I basically did the same thing with redrum that you told me to do with the matrix -- altering the controller lanes. Thanks again.

The only ways I can think of it are level manipulations (basically muting), using a blank pattern or copying the pattern to track and placing the data where you want it on the sequencer. All good solutions in my opinion.
