Hi, i'm a bit lost as to what your asking. When you run the drum machine it does loop automatically. Could you re-phrase your question? |

yes exactly if you have a drum pattern you like in the drum loop can you just copy and paste it so it doesnt loop throughout the whole song

Yep, Go to the sequencer track for you Redrum machine and at the top left there is a yellow button, hit that and you will notice a long yellow line, but it won't be automated at the moment. The yellow line is allocated a redum pattern number, the one you see should be A1, The length of this line determines how long the loop plays for. If you want to change the loop, go to the drop down box on the same page and select A2 and draw in a yellow line where you want A2 to start and A1 to finish. if you don't want anything playing, what I do is use the last pattern, D8 from memory, and use that. Can anyone give Mbzfolife a screen shot? |

Pic tutorial I made a long time ago dealing with copying patterns from the redrum to the sequencer, make sure you read the posts after my tutorial too because they contain some usefull information. http://www.reasonforum.com/reason/27...ghlight=redrum |

Good stuff. how about the yellow automation lines, so you don't need to copy the pattern to track, or do you never use them? |

I know of them, just never use them.

What's the reason for that? I tend to use a bunch of ways. At the moment i'm using the NNXT for most of my drum parts, but I find if i'm using redrum then I use the yellow automation lines because it's much easier to edit the loop at a later date. If you want to change the position of a hat hit then you just change it in the redrum pattern. Copying the loop to track requires you to change it in the sequencer which is a pain in the arse or change it in the redurm and then re-paste it all to track, that is if you remember and still have the original pattern. Anyway something you might want to look into. |

Oh wait now I remember I like doing it that way because its easier for me to switch patterns back and forth and make a drop in a beat. With automating that part would take a little more time.
