Exclamation Reason 4 -- out soon!

Propellerhead has announced it has started beta testing for Reason 4. Reason 4 introduces:
  • Thor, a sophisticated synthesizer;
  • The ReGroove mixer, a new way to adjust the rhythmic feel of tracks;
  • RPG-8, a versatile arpeggiator;
  • A newly rebuilt sequencer; and
  • Workflow enhancements that give musicians the control and power to make great sounding music faster and easier than ever.

Yes, when I first saw the announcement, I actually jizzed a little in pants! Tempo automation is an awesome addition too. I've been waiting for it for a while now. I signed up for beta, but haven't heard from them. I think they probably have enough beta testers by now.

Default not that thrilled

to me, the main shortcoming of Reason has always been the lack of a 'staff' window.
It's very annoying having to use the piano roll if you want to make chord progressions or anything with voice leading and/or rythmic changes. I really don't undestand why can't they add this functionality -very common in all other sequencers- since it's not audio related or anything.

Just my opinion

Default Reason 4.0

Does anyone have any idea when Reason 4.0 will be on the market? I'm using Reason 2.5, and I've been delaying purchasing Reason 3.0 while waiting for 4.0. Although I've been told that if you purchase or upgrade to Reason 3.0 after June 1, 2007, you can get a free upgrade to Reason 4.0.

If I'm correct propellerhead takes about 10 weeks for beta testing (reason 4 has already had beta testing) then maybe a little more time for releasing it, so don't worry It will be soon, but the wait is so damn hard.
