| I want to move my Reason to another machine, but I can't find the location or file which contains information about resources that I have been added to Favorites. Any clue where I shall dig? Thanks. |

Hey, I can tell you that all the programs that I use to run Reason and the all the refills I use are located in C:/programfiles/propellerhead and my songs are saved in C:user documents/my music/reason. What files are you after exactly? All the shortcuts in your favorites section of the patch browser can be located by going into your patch browser selecting the short cut from favourites and then going to the "see parent folder" pull down, you can then see the file path for this file/folder by repeating the process. Another option is to do a windows search, just put the key-word reason in and that will show you where the program files are, or right click on your reason shortcut on the desktop and go to properties and it will show you the file path for where the short cut points to. If you are tring to find songs do a windows search on the file extension .rns, i'm not sure what the file extensions are for re-fills. Sorry this is only usfull for PC users. |

Yes, well I'm looking after the file in which those shortcut information about favorite files are stored... Not the source files.

The favorites folders and their contents (patch aliases/shortcuts) are stored in the reason preferences file along with other program settings. You can copy and backup this file by saving the Reason Preferences.prf file located in your C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Application Data\Propellerhead Software\Reason folder. But remember this - the favorites folder only stores aliases to patches. So after restoring your preferences file after reinstalling Reason, all of the aliases to patches saved in your favorites folder won't work unless the patches they link to are in the same places they were before. So if you have favorites patches stored in a number of different places on your hard drive(s), you need to copy all of those patch files back to their previously saved/aliased locations. |
