Hey i have made a number of songs and i want to put them on my web page so others can hear them, is there anyway that i can convert them to an mp3 format? If not how can i convert it so that it works for the internet?

Reason converts songs into wav files, you'll probably need something that can convert wav files to the mp3 format, look for some free program through google or get a program like "Total Recorder" (which is what I use) through the "other way".

You should be fine with 44000

Winamp will convert files into different formats for you, it's a small and easily downloadable program. Load the files into winamp, select them all, right click and go to "send to" and then "file converter". You may have to set it up for MP3's but it fairly easy.
