i think plenty of people use it. those who don't are missing out big time. it's uses are splitting/combining audio or midi signals. powerful stuff.

yes but you re talkin about the spider audio merger and splitter i was talkin about the spider CV merger and splitter it merges and splits control voltage signals.. i was wonderin about his creative uses ... |

yeah i was talking about the spider in general. try linking the curve output of a matrix to the pan cv input of a channel in the mixer. automating pan but easier. or the lfo mod output form a dr.rex to anything that has a cv input. |

Lol I just did a whole damn tutorial on this. CV has too many possibilities to count, usually for me (when I do use it) it's generally that so that a matrix pattern can control some modulation input such as let's say the OSC Pitch on a Subtractor. Just try fooling around and use matrix patterns for different modulation options, it's acutually kinda of fun. As for the tutorial I would link it but that's up to moltor (because I made it for him) and where he'll put those tutorials on the web. |

well i ve always used spider cv linking lfo modulation "output" to filter/amplitude ecc ecc "in" .. your suggestion about matrix is very interesting! |

Definitely!!! Use them all the time. Just a tip. If you want to automate a control that doesn't have a CV input just put the device in a combinator, then use the combinators programmer to link the control you want to automate to one of its rotary buttons and plug the CV cable in the combinator. (sorry no pic which would help This is great for use on the reverb unit as you can then automate nearly all the parameters. Also this is the only way of creating frequency sweeps on the new EQ unit unless you create a sequencer track for it seperattly, which I try to avoid or I end up with sequencer tracks all over the place. |

Hey NUTTSDUTTS! Your tips is awesome! I would never think about that one... It always annoyed me that I couldn't control some things with Matrix.

Yea it's all good, you are still limited to automating the controls that are programable in the combinator but it is as high as let's say...90% of the knobs. The same works with the 4 buttons. I tend to use these to automate the mutes on a mixer so I can kill levels whenever I want as to creat better dynamics. But can turn things like filters on/off etc.

i frequently use the cv on the mixer i set-up a malstrom with a simple sine wave, sync it, and take the cv from mod a and bring it to the spider cv -- the i use one out to a volume or pan control on one channel and the invert to another volume or pan -- this way they go "back and forth" either with pan (switching channels) or volume (alternating volumes) |
